Koh Tao: 14 Photos That Will Make You Want to Visit

I often wonder if my obsession with bright blue water and tropical beaches comes from the fact that as a child, I never saw anything like it.

My family went to the beach a lot when I was growing up–but always to the Atlantic coast, normally off of North Carolina or Florida. The beaches were (and still are) wonderful for their own form of beauty and for swimming in the strong waves, but I always wanted to go to a beach that looked like a postcard from a tropical paradise.

I’ve seen several of them now, but Koh Tao was incredibly impressive. The entire time that we were on the island, I just wanted to keep staring at it, admiring it, and photographing it–though visiting beaches is definitely not the only thing to do on Koh Tao!

I doubt this will be our last trip to Koh Tao–it definitely won’t be our last trip to the beaches of Thailand. Next time, we hope to come back during the high season (or at least shoulder season) and check out the famed Andaman coast.
For now, I’ll keep looking back at all of our beautiful, postcard-esque photos of a landscape that once seemed so far away.

Kate has been traveling the world full-time for more than 3 years. She tries to keep a balance between going on new adventures and exploring favorite destinations (like Italy!) in depth, and is always on the lookout for the next beautiful overlook and delicious meal.

Hi again, It looks like you are experiencing wonderful weather. The pictures/beaches are beautiful and you both continue to look great and well.
All is fine here in OK. Labor Day coming up, which means the end of summer. Days are getting shorter and nights cooler. Each night we take our long walk and now start out a littler earlier each evening so as to be home before dark. Touchmark continues to keep us partying, so that’s a good thing. Sending lots of love, Grandma.

We have definitely had some great weather days during our trip! I hope that the shorter days will bring cooler weather with it–I’m sure you’re ready for the heat wave to end. Love to you and Grandpa Frank! 🙂
